Why Engage with New Day?

Children develop in unique ways at their own pace during their adolescent and young adult years. It can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming for parents to navigate their children's behaviors and support their academic growth. Individuals who connect with New Day often have these kinds of concerns:

I’m not sure if my child’s behavior is appropriate for this age and stage.

My child needs to develop skills and habits for learning that they will need to thrive now and in college.

I could use some help supporting my child’s social media usage and managing their social lives.

I could use some help coordinating for my newly diagnosed child at school.

My child has made a transition (middle/high school, college, post college), and things are falling apart.

Something is getting in the way of my child’s success, either socially or academically, and I’m not sure what it is.

“Having a child who is an atypical learner, it was imperative to have the proper support system at school for him to be successful. Shannon provided the expertise, guidance and the collaboration for this to occur. We have worked with Shannon for 7 years and her knowledge and dedication are unmatched. Her warmth gives comfort during the many upheavals that are normal in an adolescent's school journey. We are deeply grateful for our relationship with Shannon and credit her for our son's success.”

"Dr. Mulholland provides an immediate sense of calm to our child, empowering her to feel less stress and sharing the tools to solve her own problems.

The parent-child relationship can be tense, it's nice to have Dr. Mulholland in the middle -- giving both sides a strategy to follow week to week.

Noone has time to unpack the way the kids are digitally learning. It's overwhelming and tough to identify exact resources they need to study. Dr. Mulholland has taken this burden off of our plate and I feel like my child is actually learning how to work hard for the first time.

We love talking to Dr. Mulholland. She makes us feel like our problems are normal and fixable -- it's a big relief."

- Parent of a Grade 10 Student

"Shannon was such a support during my son’s middle school years.  Our son had a LOT of potential, but always seemed to struggle when dealing with peers, completing assignments, and coping with the pressures of middle school.  Shannon helped our family navigate these hurdles.  Her calm reassurance and guidance allowed us to develop a plan and execute on that plan.  She was a resource for the entire family, calling on her years of experience and expertise."

- Parent of a Middle School Student

"Our son was a straight A student in elementary school, but everything changed in 6th grade. It's hard when your child is struggling -- you're going back and forth between discipline and motivation tactics and nothing works. Dr. Mulholland took the time to get a full understanding of our son's learning platforms and his personal behaviors in school. These are secrets you don't get from your child as a parent. The changes she's suggested are transforming the way he studies and takes tests. Within three weeks we're seeing big results and better grades."
